The Missions:
“Local Textures”
With the local textures challenge, we’re looking for photographs with interesting textures and character. Consider real materials one might find in a vibrant, active urban setting – materials that are authentic, organic and have a tactile finish. For example, a crumbling brick wall, sun-bleached wood or rich silk fabric on display in a shop. We should want to reach out and feel the texture through the image!
“Local Colors”
With the local colors challenge, we’re looking for photographs with thoughtful and sophisticated pops of color set in a vibrant, active urban setting. Artfully use color to draw our eye, highlight a specific element or create a mood. The more vibrant, the better! Use the atmosphere and energy of the surrounding neighborhood to provide context for your shot.
“Local Flavors”
This mission is part of our neighborhood challenge series; each challenge is designed to engage the senses and pique your curiosity about a location. With the local flavors challenge, we’re looking for photographs of locally crafted food and beverage in all its varied, splendid forms and throughout the different day parts. Tapas, street food, cupcakes and confections, coffee, craft beer and cocktails welcome!
