Kayla, Congratulations for winning the mission! Your photo is absolutely lovely. Before we get to the story behind the picture, could you tell us something about yourself? What do you do in real life, when you are not Foaping? And where do you live?
I’m from a small town called Oxford in Connecticut. When I’m not taking photos or on Foap I am taking care of my two daughters. Besides photography being one of my many hobbies I also love to cook!
The winning photo is really sweet! Could you tell us what’s happening? Who is the little princess and why was she is so excited?
This is my oldest daughter. If you met her in real life you would understand completely how and why I was able to take this photo! She enjoys getting her picture taken a little too much maybe and as soon as I take out my camera she immediately strikes poses like this one. We were at the park in this picture and just about to get ice cream. Wouldn’t you be excited too!?
Is this the first time you win a mission? How is it? There were lots of amazing photos in the “I love free Wi-Fi” mission – you must feel special? 🙂
Yes this is the first time winning a mission. I was definitely making this same face when I found out!!! I still can’t believe it!
How and when did your interest for photography start? Also, from your portfolio I get a feeling that you like to capture details from a different angle and to create stories out of everyday life happenings. I’m thinking for example of photos like these:
What’s your secret for finding the creativity and inspiration to take such photos?
I first started getting into photography when I received a camera for my first Mother’s Day. Everywhere I go I try to capture a memory. I love capturing expressions but I also love trying new angles and subjects to add a fun variety to my portfolio.
What is Foap for you and when and how did you start Foaping?
Foap is so much fun and the missions allows variety and creativity to my portfolio. Less than a year ago my good friend, Denise, told me about it because she knew how much I love photography.
How many photos have you sold so far? We’ve actually found some places where your pictures are being used. Here are some examples:
From Hyatt to a German bed company! Your photos are being loved by many people. How do you feel about it?
So far I’ve sold 14 photos!!
I still can’t believe it. To think a fun app could take me this far in photography already is amazing. I can now say I get paid to do what I love!
Finally, if you would choose a favorite photo on your portfolio, which one would it be? And why?
My favorite photo would have to be a recent one I’ve just uploaded of my two daughters. It sums up my whole world. The expression my oldest daughter is making is another example of how fun and silly she is when I take out my camera!
