Jennie Hertz wins the “Shake Up Your Kahlúa Espresso Martini” mission

It was for sure a great fun to take part in this mission. Shake, shake, shake… Shake up your Kahlúa Espresso Martini.

The reward and the congrats from the Foap Team go to Jennie Hertz (@akilles)!

Read the interview with Jennie to learn more about how she came up with the photo and who was helping her with that.

Jennie, congratulations on winning the “Shake Up Your Kahlúa Espresso Martini” mission! You have been foaping for a year already. We’re curious to hear how you found out about Foap and why did you start using it?

Thank you so much, it was a nice surprise! It’s a great feeling to win a mission, I’m so happy! 😀

One of my friends posted an article about Foap on Facebook. I love taking pictures and if I could make money on it, it’s even better, so I thought that I would give it a try. It has been a fun year, I’ve sold more photos than I could imagine and I’ve got a lot of new friends from all over the world. I’m addicted to Foap now! 😉

We’d love to get to know you better. Where are you from, what do you do when you’re not Foaping?

I’m from Sweden and I live in a small town called Nyköping. I usually spend my free time with my family and friends. You can also find me in action with my camera somewhere. I love to workout and to travel. I’m actually planning my next travel right now.

Some time ago, I fell and hurt my back in my previous job, so I had to quit. I’ve been suffering so much I could barely walk. After that I decided to start studying and now I have a degree with specialization in Computer Engineering. I’m fine today. 🙂

The composition of the winning photo is really nice. How did you come up with an idea for it? What were the biggest challenges when shooting?

Thank you, I’m glad you like it! 🙂 I took the picture at my parents’ house. I mixed the drinks, arranged the glasses, bottles and the coffee beans. My mom helped me with the background. It was actually the biggest challenge. In the end, my mom came up with the idea for it. She is a very creative person.

How and when your interest for photography started? Your portfolio shows great interest in photographing nature like for example these photos:

What do you like the most about taking such photographs?

I have been interested in photography since I was a child. I don’t remember how old I was when I got my first camera, but I have seen the pictures I took as a child. These are pictures of people with their heads not visible on the image, so I guess I was quite young. I have my camera with me all the time, and I love to capture every moment of my travels. It’s more fun to photograph things that you don’t have at home and things that you can’t do in your home country.

If you would choose a favorite photo from your portfolio, which one would it be? And why?

That was a hard question… but I have a weakness for reflections, and it was a beautiful evening, so I choose this picture. Swedish summer at its best!

Finally, are there any Foapers whose work you like in particular? Who would you recommend to follow?

I have many favorite Foapers, how much time do you have? 😉 Take a look at the nice and talented Foapers I follow. I love to see and rate their pictures, every picture has its own beauty. You don’t sell less pictures if you give good ratings to someone else!

I look forward to many new and fun missions!

I would like to end with a big thanks to my mom and to my drinking buddies in my other Kahlúa pictures.

Happy Foaping! 🙂

Thank you so much Jennie for sharing your story!

And we’re looking forward to more photos from your next travel and to your photos on on Kahlúa’s new mission: Mind Eraser.
